The Financial Empowerment Network (FEN) is a leading nonprofit 501(c)(3) based in Washington State, dedicated to empowering low- and moderate-income individuals through collaborative partnerships. Since launching in 2006—under the leadership of the City of Seattle, Washington Appleseed, and The Seattle Foundation—FEN has grown into a powerful connector and capacity builder. It equips frontline professionals—like financial coaches, housing counselors, case managers, and tax prep volunteers—with evidence-based training, curated tools, and peer learning networks to integrate financial empowerment into community services.
